What is a bridal trial and do I need it?A “trial session” is a makeup & hair trial, which gives the bride a preview of her look for her special day. The trial session is optional and is usually booked a few months before your wedding and is held at your home or a location of your choice. On your trial date, you'll meet your makeup artist and hairstylist to discuss wedding details, including your dress, hairstyles, makeup style, and accessories, along with a skin condition consultation. The artists will then create your desired look. Trial styling typically takes about 2-3 hours. We highly recommend a trial run to experiment with makeup colors and hairstyles. A consultation is essential for us to understand and communicate your vision for your wedding day. The trial run allows us to preview and perfect your desired look before the big day, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently on the actual event.

How do I prepare for a trial session? Please wear a white top to help us visualize how your look will coordinate with your dress. Arrive with your hair washed the night before the trial. Ensure your hair is completely dry before the trial. Avoid using any hair products before the trial. Come with a clean face, free of makeup. Bring any jewelry, hair accessories, or extensions you’ll use on your wedding day. Bring photos of makeup and hairstyles you like, or a Pinterest board to share with us before the trial. Plan for 2-3 hours for your trial session. If the look you chose during your trial doesn’t feel quite right, please let us know on the day of the trial or shortly after. We understand that sometimes a chosen style might not match exactly how you want to feel, and we’re happy to make adjustments or explore new options for your wedding day. If needed, we can arrange another trial to try a different look, ensuring you feel absolutely comfortable and confident on your special day.

I want Airbrush Makeup, Lashes, and Clip-in Extensions, is it extra? If you choose to use lashes or clip-in hair extensions, there is no additional charge for applying them. Our artists have a variety of lashes to help achieve your desired look. Please bring your clip-in hair extensions on both the trial and the wedding day. We’re excited to work with extensions and will happily incorporate and style them into your preferred hairstyle at no extra cost. Due to the additional skills, products, and time required for Airbrush makeup, there is an extra $25 fee per application. However, you and your bridal party can test Airbrush makeup during the trial at no additional cost; it will be priced the same as traditional makeup.

What do I have to consider before the wedding day? Before the wedding day, brides should avoid the following to ensure everything goes smoothly and they look their best: New Skincare Products: Stick to products you’ve used before to avoid unexpected reactions. Sun Exposure: Limit direct sun exposure and avoid tanning or sunburn, which can affect your makeup. Intense Workouts: Refrain from strenuous workouts that could lead to excessive sweating or muscle soreness. Heavy Meals or Foods That Cause Bloating: Avoid foods that may cause bloating or digestive issues, such as high-sodium or spicy foods. Alcohol and Caffeine: Minimize consumption as they can dehydrate your skin and affect your complexion. Late Nights and Lack of Sleep: Ensure you’re well-rested in the days leading up to your wedding for a fresh appearance. Hair Color Changes: Avoid drastic changes to your hair color or style to prevent last-minute issues. DIY Beauty Treatments: Refrain from unfamiliar DIY beauty treatments to avoid unexpected results. Stressful Activities: Reduce stress and avoid activities that might make you anxious before your big day. Makeup Trials Close to the Wedding: Schedule your makeup trial well in advance to allow for any adjustments. Spray Tan: Avoid spray tanning 2 days before the wedding. Facial Waxing: Do not wax your face 2 days before the wedding. New Skincare Treatments: Avoid new skincare treatments, such as peels or facials, close to your wedding day.

What do I have to consider when setting up the workstation for the artists on the wedding day?The most important factor for your makeup artists is access to natural lighting. If natural light isn’t available, cool, white light is preferable to warm, yellow light. Please ensure there are enough chairs for your guests, accessible outlets, and sufficient table space for the artists’ makeup, hair products, and brushes (e.g., a dining or coffee table). Be sure to ask how many artists will be working so you can allocate enough space. For a scattered group, it’s best to find a large room where everyone can gather or have guests come and go as their services are completed. We may need to start earlier than the venue’s allowed access time, so please confirm this with them in advance. Additionally, consider your early risers, those who get along with everyone, and those who tend to be late when scheduling.
-
How long does the styling take on the wedding day?We prefer to take our time and avoid rushing, especially when it comes to the bride. Typically, we need 2.5 to 3 hours for the bride’s hair and makeup, and 1.5 to 2 hours for each bridal party member’s hair and makeup. If clip-in hair extensions are requested by the bride or any bridal party members, additional time may be needed.

Is a down payment required? When is payment due?Reservation and Deposit Policy To formally reserve your date, artists, and pricing, and to schedule a trial appointment, we require a signed contract and a $150 deposit. This deposit will be applied to your wedding day balance, which is due on the wedding day, and cannot be used to cover the trial session. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, except in cases where we are unable to meet our contractual obligations, such as if our company closes. Due to the nature of our business, your wedding date and trial session cannot be secured until both the deposit and signed contract are received. This ensures there is no risk in signing the contract before the trial. If the trial styling does not meet your expectations, please inform us within three days of the trial date so we can cancel the reservation and refund your $150 deposit. Please note that cancellations made before the trial day or after the 3-day period will not be eligible for a refund. Please note that full payment is required 1 week before the trial day and 2 weeks before the wedding day. We accept payments via Debit/Credit Card, Zelle, ACH Transfers, or Apple Pay.
