Frequently asked questions
- 01A “trial session” is a makeup & hair trial, which gives the bride a preview of her look for her special day. The trial session is optional and is usually booked a few months before your wedding and is held at your home or a location of your choice. On your trial date, you'll meet your makeup artist and hairstylist to discuss wedding details, including your dress, hairstyles, makeup style, and accessories, along with a skin condition consultation. The artists will then create your desired look. Trial styling typically takes about 2-3 hours. We highly recommend a trial run to experiment with makeup colors and hairstyles. A consultation is essential for us to understand and communicate your vision for your wedding day. The trial run allows us to preview and perfect your desired look before the big day, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently on the actual event.
- 02Please wear a white top to get a better idea of how your look will work with your dress Please come with your hair washed the night before the trial Please come with completely dry hair Please do not use any hair products before the trial Please come with your face washed with no makeup Optional: Gently exfoliate your face and apply a hydrating mask before the trial Bring our inspirational pictures for hair and makeup, as well as images of your dress Bring any jewelry or hair accessories/extensions you will be using on your big day Plan at least 2 hours for your trial If the look you chose during your trial doesn’t feel quite right, please let us know on the day of the trial or shortly after. We understand that sometimes a chosen style might not match exactly how you want to feel, and we’re happy to make adjustments or explore new options for your wedding day. If needed, we can arrange another trial to try a different look, ensuring you feel absolutely comfortable and confident on your special day.
- 03To schedule a trial appointment, we require a signed contract and a $150 deposit. While committing before the trial session may seem like a risk, it secures your date, prices, and artists. We want you to be fully satisfied with the trial results, and if you're not, we offer a 3-day cancellation policy. If the trial styling does not meet your expectations, you can cancel and receive a full refund of your deposit within three days. This policy ensures there is no risk in signing the contract before the trial.
- 04All makeup services include the application of false lashes (individuals, clusters, or strips). Our artists have a variety of lashes to help achieve your desired look. However, if a client requests only the application of false lashes without a full makeup service, a $30 fee applies. Please bring your extensions on both the trial and the wedding day. We’re excited to work with extensions and will happily incorporate and style them into your preferred hairstyle. Clip-in or halo extensions can be added for $50, including placement and styling of your extensions. Just let us know in advance so we can allow a little extra time and keep everything running smoothly on your wedding day. Due to the additional skills, products, and time required for Airbrush makeup, there is an extra $25 fee per application.
- 05While we love both Airbrush and Traditional Makeup applications, each application style has its own pros and cons. Click the link to determine what type of makeup is right for you:

- 07Before the wedding day, brides should avoid the following to ensure everything goes smoothly and they look their best: New Skincare Products: Stick to products you’ve used before to avoid unexpected reactions. Sun Exposure: Limit direct sun exposure and avoid tanning or sunburn, which can affect your makeup. Intense Workouts: Refrain from strenuous workouts that could lead to excessive sweating or muscle soreness. Heavy Meals or Foods That Cause Bloating: Avoid foods that may cause bloating or digestive issues, such as high-sodium or spicy foods. Alcohol and Caffeine: Minimize consumption as they can dehydrate your skin and affect your complexion. Late Nights and Lack of Sleep: Ensure you’re well-rested in the days leading up to your wedding for a fresh appearance. Hair Color Changes: Avoid drastic changes to your hair color or style to prevent last-minute issues. DIY Beauty Treatments: Refrain from unfamiliar DIY beauty treatments to avoid unexpected results. Stressful Activities: Reduce stress and avoid activities that might make you anxious before your big day. Makeup Trials Close to the Wedding: Schedule your makeup trial well in advance to allow for any adjustments. Spray Tan: Avoid spray tanning 2 days before the wedding. Facial Waxing: Do not wax your face 2 days before the wedding. New Skincare Treatments: Avoid new skincare treatments, such as peels or facials, close to your wedding day.
- 08The most important factor for your makeup artists is access to natural lighting. If natural light isn’t available, cool, white light is preferable to warm, yellow light. Please ensure there are enough chairs for your guests, accessible outlets, and sufficient table space for the artists’ makeup, hair products, and brushes (e.g., a dining or coffee table). Be sure to ask how many artists will be working so you can allocate enough space. For a scattered group, it’s best to find a large room where everyone can gather or have guests come and go as their services are completed. We may need to start earlier than the venue’s allowed access time, so please confirm this with them in advance. Additionally, consider your early risers, those who get along with everyone, and those who tend to be late when scheduling.
- 09We prefer to take our time and avoid rushing, especially when it comes to the bride. Typically, we need 2.5 to 3 hours for the bride’s hair and makeup, and 1.5 to 2 hours for each bridal party member’s hair and makeup. If clip-in hair extensions are requested by the bride or any bridal party members, additional time may be needed.
- 10Please note that weddings require a minimum of 5 services (hair and/or makeup), or the equivalent of a $700 booking minimum. Exceptions may apply on weekdays and during off-season months. Please get in touch with us to review and confirm. To ensure your timeline runs smoothly, we bring in an additional artist for groups of 9+ services. An additional artist fee of $100 plus travel will apply. Each artist is required to provide a minimum of 5 services to allow for efficient timing and the best experience on your wedding day.
- 11Reservation and Deposit Policy To formally reserve your date, artists, and pricing, and to schedule a trial appointment, we require a signed contract and a $150 deposit. This deposit will be applied to your wedding day balance, which is due on the wedding day, and cannot be used to cover the trial session. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, except in cases where we are unable to meet our contractual obligations, such as if our company closes. Due to the nature of our business, your wedding date and trial session cannot be secured until both the deposit and signed contract are received. Three-Day Cancellation Policy After Trial Styling We offer a 3-day cancellation period following your trial session, during which you can cancel and receive a full refund of your deposit. This ensures there is no risk in signing the contract before the trial. If the trial styling does not meet your expectations, please inform us within three days of the trial date so we can cancel the reservation and refund your $150 deposit. Please note that cancellations made before the trial day or after the 3-day period will not be eligible for a refund. Please note that full payment is required 1 week before the trial day and 2 weeks before the wedding day. We accept payments via Debit/Credit Card, Zelle, Cash App, ACH Transfers, or Apple Pay. We will send an email with the total amount due and detailed payment instructions.
